We are going to start where the colonists started…Virginia.  From there we will visit all Thirteen original colonies! Lastly, we will conquer the rest of the states as well as some territories.

Of course I’m not crazy enough to get into my SUV with almost 100,000 miles on it with a 4 1/2 year old, 7 year old and a pre-teen!  Not to mention the wonderful gas prices we have all been experiencing! We will be taking this journey visiting the Internet, public library and local market!

On this journey we will learn facts about each state we visit. We will share them here with you.  We will learn the state capitol, state bird, state flower, favorite hot spots and what they eat.

The meal for that night will be what that state is famous for!  The boys and I will travel to the local market and pick out the ingredients and come home and cook it together!  We will share the recipe we make here with you!

As I had mentioned the first state will be Virginia.  If you have any facts or recipes feel free to share.

Hopefully, someday, we can use this information as a road map for a real road trip!
